Well not much is happening with me lately. Heading out to SB first week of November, work is slow, but we have a major PKI project coming up. Other than that trying to stay focused and keep my head up. Been riding a lot, and looking forward to the beginning of the NBA season. Will try and write more soon.
At church Sunday I publicly gave my life to Christ. Personally I had accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior, but I had never publicly done anything about it. It was an amazing experience. My pastor preached on this Mark 5. But before diving into the scripture, he made this reference: He had several different paint buckets on the floor and the reference he made was about some being like paint buckets with paint inside. Are we the kind that just sits there in the shed, lid on getting hard and crusty? Or are we the kind that like the spray paint can gets shaken and sprayed all over? Well, for a long time I have been feeling crusty, old, tired…The kind where even with that little tool to open the lid isn’t quite enough. You have to get the monster screw driver and hammer to open the lid. And when it is open, there is that layer of dried old paint that must be scooped out before you can even begin shaking. This past year has been rough for me. So my normal reaction was to close up and stuff it down, let it get hard. But God has a plan for me, and it cant happen if I am crusty, hard. I was shaken Sunday, not only by Pastor’s use of paint cans, but by how wonderful the holy spirit can lift my spirit even when times are tough. You see Mark 5 tells the story of a man possessed and Jesus comes by and shakes him up so much that even the demons tremble in fear. Nothing can stand in my way as long as I have Jesus. Even when I feel crusty, or tormented by life, or circumstances, everyday things that weigh you down, know that Jesus can save and bring restoration to your life. So, what kind of paint are you? If after reading this you are curious head over to Download Sermons and hopefully within a couple days the August 9th sermon will be available.
